About

Anthony Saliba is an actuary and superannuation executive with over 18 years' experience advising Australia's leading superannuation funds, life insurers and regulators on retirement income, member outcomes and digital transformation.

A Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA, Investments Specialisation), Anthony's expertise spans the full retirement income value chain: post-retirement product design (lifetime income, investment-linked annuities, account-based pensions), mortality pooling and longevity risk, income layering, member segmentation and engagement, and the Retirement Income Covenant (RIC). He has advised trustees on retirement income strategy, product selection and governance since before the Covenant's commencement, and has held direct accountability for annuity pricing, capital strategy and product design in a senior life insurance actuarial role, giving him a genuine end to end perspective few advisers in the market can offer.

Anthony's work sits at the intersection of actuarial rigour and digital delivery. As a Partner at Deloitte, he led the retirement income strategies for several of Australia's largest super funds, as well as award-winning retirement illustrators, which drove measurable uplifts in member engagement and contributed directly to fund awards. He designed and built Deloitte's Flexible Interactive Retirement Estimate (FIRE) API, enabling ASIC-compliant, personalised retirement income projections at scale under RG 276, and authored the Retirement Solutions Assessment Framework, now used industry-wide by funds evaluating retirement income solutions against their RIC obligations. He also grew a superannuation calculator and advisory portfolio by 500% during his time at Deloitte, scaling a suite of SaaS tools across a broad base of funds and insurers.

His technical grounding extends into applied AI and software development: Python, R, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, and REST API and MCP (Model Context Protocol) server design, including hands on integration of OpenAI and Anthropic APIs into client-facing tools.

This combination of actuarial depth, regulatory fluency (RIC, APRA prudential standards including SPS 515, SIS Act, Design and Distribution Obligations, RG 277 remediation and RG 276) and technical build capability is unusual in the market and underpins his reputation as an adviser trusted by Chief Retirement Officers, Chief Member Officers and Heads of Retirement across the industry.

After 18 years across EY, AIA Australia, Rice Warner and Deloitte, most recently as Partner in Actuarial Consulting, Anthony now works independently, advising superannuation funds and life insurers on retirement income strategy and product design.
